Your health-care team will make a plan for your cancer treatment and guide you along the way. They may also ask you to take part in research studies. Your health-care team know a lot about cancer and how to treat it, but you and your parents/caregivers also need to understand your treatment so you can be part of deciding what is best for you.
The type of treatment you receive will depend on the type of cancer you have. There are different treatment and therapy options available including the following.
- Radiation therapy
- Surgery, including limb sparing, rotationplasty and amputation
- Bone marrow transplant
- Complementary and alternative therapies
For more information on each of these treatments and therapies, click the links to read more. Write down any questions you may have and bring them to your next appointment so that you can discuss them with a member of your health-care team.
